The New York Pops Plays The Music Of John Williams

On June 8, 2017, The New York Pops played at its summer home, Forest Hills Stadium, on June 8. The program was The New York Pops Plays The Music Of John Williams, conducted by Music Director Steven Reineke. Violinist and Concertmaster Cenovia Cummings performed “Schindler’s List,”  and The New York Pops played songs from several Steven Spielberg blockbusters that were composed by 50-TIME-Academy Award nominee John Williams: “Jaws,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “E.T. The Extra Terrestrial,” “Hook,” “Schindler's List” and “Jurassic Park.”

In addition, they performed the theme from the “Harry Potter” films.

The second half of the show consisted of several John Williams’ compositions from the “Star Wars” movie franchise.  One of the highlights from this part of the performance was when Darth Vader took control of the show using The Force on Conductor Steve Reineke.
