Addabbo Hosts Prostate Cancer Screenings At Middle Village Office
On Saturday, April 15, New York State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and Integrated Medical Foundation held a free Prostate Cancer Screening event at the Senator's Middle Village office, for men ages 40 and older, who had not previously been diagnosed with prostate cancer, regardless of whether they have insurance.
"Thank you again to Integrated Medical Foundation's Executive Director Rhonda Samuel, and her staff, for agreeing to perform the screenings at no cost to local residents," Addabbo said. "Early detection is the primary proven method of preventing prostate cancer, which is why I am happy to once again provide this free service for residents."
According to the American Cancer Society, approximately one in seven men over the age of 40, will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. In an attempt to address this alarming statistic, Sen. Addabbo and the Integrated Medical Foundation will be providing another free Prostate Cancer Screening event on Saturday, May 20, at the Senator's Howard Beach office, 159-53 102nd St. in Howard Beach, from 10-11:30 a.m.
Screenings will involve a PSA Blood Test. To be notified of exam results, please bring a single self-addressed, stamped envelope. You must also bring a photo ID, such as a driver’s license, that contains an address.
Appointments are necessary and space is limited. To schedule an appointment or for more information, contact NYS Sen. Addabbo’s office at 718-738-1111.
