Kew Gardens Hills Library Project Back On Track

After being stalled for many years, the $9.4 million renovation of the Kew Garden Hills Library is proceeding at rapid pace that will allow the library to reopen this summer. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz returned to the site on February 8th  with New York City Department of Design and Construction Commissioner Feniosky Peña-Mora (second from l.) and Queens Library President and CEO Dennis Walcott (l.) to review the progress that has taken place there since the Borough President’s last visit in October. The library’s renovation is being funded in large part by an $8.1 million allocation from the Office of the Queens Borough President, with the remainder of the funds coming from the City Council, the Mayor’s Office, the Assembly and the State Senate.
