Photo Walter Karling The annual Asian Lunar New Year parade was held in downtown Flushing on February 4th. On hand to celebrate the Year of the Rooster were Council Member Peter Koo, former Comptroller John C. Liu, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, State Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, Assembly Member Nily Rozic, the Executive Director of the Flushing Chinese Business Association Peter Tu, and state Senators Toby Ann Stavisky and Tony Avella. Borough President Katz and Queens Borough Historian Jack Eichenbaum were also in attendance. Marching bands, dragons, colorful fireworks and confetti delighted hundreds of spectators lined up along Main Street in Flushing.
