Six Arrested At Astoria Drug Dens

By Liz Goff
Police at the 114th Precinct arrested six suspects and seized several firearms, drugs and assorted drug paraphernalia during an early morning raid at two Astoria apartments.

Cops said officers who responded to a 911 cal of an assault in progress at the building at 21st Street and 24th Avenue saw a man disappear into a rear room at an apartment.

When the cops entered the apartment, they spotted several firearms and an undisclosed amount of narcotics in plain sight, police said.

The suspect spotted the officers and fled through a rear window and climbed a fire escape to an upstairs apartment, police said. The cops followed the suspect to the upstairs apartment, where they arrested one man and recovered an additional amount of narcotics.

Police said the officers seized a total of three firearms, an undisclosed amount of ammunition, more than four ounces of cocaine and other narcotics and additional drug paraphernalia, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The six suspects were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. The residents of both apartments are also facing weapon and other drug-related charges.
