Cops Offer $2.5G Reward For Jackson Heights Gunman

By Liz Goff
Police are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a suspect wanted for shooting a man on January 17.

Cops said the unidentified victim was shot in the torso while he was standing in front of 90-01 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights at about 8 p.m. on January 17. The male suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.

Police described 90th Street, between 37th and Roosevelt Avenues, as a troubled strip with a history of gang-related and other conditions. Police officials at the 115th Precinct beefed up enforcement along the strip in recent years, following two unrelated homicides at the location, a police spokesperson said.
