The Gazette’s 35th Anniversary

On the occasion of this newspaper, the Queens Gazette, reaching its 35th anniversary this month, congratulations are in order, for the Gazette publisher, editors, management and staff’s continued dedication to excellence. A 100% effort is required every week and the management and staff have met the challenge squarely.

Sketching out the newspaper’s achievements, the newspaper has increased its weekly circulation and covers more than 45 neighborhoods throughout Queens – from Long Island City to Little Neck, and from Astoria to Howard Beach. The weekly internet edition has added to its circulation; also advertising volume has grown, as has readership – and that is without mentioning social media and the multiple platforms used to convey the news to our readers. Of course, this coverage varies from politics, hard news and crime reporting to fun, social events, and from Throwback Thursday nostalgia to cute photos of the moment.

The bottom line is we have grown from humble beginnings, as a one-neighborhood newspaper, as has Queens, and we are doing everything possible to satisfy our readers’ hunger for local news on all levels.

Over the next few months, we will tell our readers much more about the paper’s inception and history. In June we will offer our famous souvenir issue celebrating our 35th anniversary. Until then, Happy 35th Birthday, Queens Gazette!
