Cops Hunt Woodhaven Bank Bandit

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a brazen bank bandit who walled away with thousands of dollars in cash in a plastic shopping bag on January 6.

Cops said the suspect, who appeared to be a woman, walked into a Queens County Savings Bank branch on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven at about 5:30 p.m. on January 6 and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied, and stuffed $4,298 in cash in a plastic bag that she handed to the thief, police said.

The suspect walked calmly out of the bank and disappeared into the crowd on Jamaica Avenue, a police source said.

No one was injured in the robbery, police said.

The suspect is described as 5-feet, 5-inches tall and about 120 pounds, with brown eyes, pronounced facial hair and what appeared to be a moustache - and was wearing glasses, bright red-checkered slacks and a black hooded bubble jacket.
