Hunt Suspect In Attempted Bank Rob

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a man who failed in an attempt to hold up an Astoria bank on December 14.

Cops said the suspect walked into a Chase Bank branch at 31-05 30th Avenue at about 4:25 p.m. on December 14, where he handed a note demanding cash to a teller.

The suspect appeared jumpy as the teller read the note, a law enforcement source said. “He bounced around, turned and left the bank empty handed,” the source said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, 5-feet, 4-inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a dark winter hat and dark glasses at the time of the crime, police said.
