Goodfellas ATM Machine Goes MIA

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a team of crafty crooks who swiped an ATM machine from the entrance to the iconic Goodfellas Diner in Maspeth.

A police source said when the diner owner arrived on the morning of November 8; he found the front door open and the lock missing. When he entered the diner, the owner discovered the ATM machine was also missing, a police source said.

The diner, at Maspeth Avenue and Rust Street, was dubbed the Clinton Diner until director Martin Scorsese filmed Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta in a pivotal scene from the 1990 gangster classic, “Goodfellas” at the eatery.

Police are still searching for two men who seriously injured the 83-year-old diner owner and his elderly wife last month, in an incident involving an unpaid bill.

Police are urging anyone with information to call the CrimeStoppers HOTLINE at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on www.nypdcrimesroppers.com.
