Cops Hunt Subway Stabber

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a suspect who tossed a bottle at a straphanger, then stabbed the victim during a dispute on an elevated train station in Woodside.

Cops said the suspect was arguing with the 20-year-old victim on the platform at the Woodside Avenue/61st Street station on the No. 7 line at about 10 p.m. on October 23, when the victim walked away.

The suspect then tossed a bottle at the victim’s back, heating up the dispute, police said. The suspect then pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach, leaving a small puncture wound, and fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as light-skinned, 17-to-19 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall and 155 pounds, with short, dark hair.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans and was carrying a backpack, police said.
