Hit-Run Driver Kills Man Lying In Street

Police are searching for a hit-run driver who fatally struck a homeless man who was lying drunk in a crosswalk at a Corona intersection on November 4, authorities said.

Cops said the 46-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was allegedly drunk, lying in the middle of a crosswalk at 41st Avenue and 104th Street at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday night.
The driver of a dark-colored SUV made a left turn from 114th Street onto 41st Avenue, striking the victim, police said. The driver sped off after running over the victim, eyewitnesses told police.
The man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he died a short while later, authorities said.
Officers from the NYPD Accident Investigation Squad cordoned off the intersection for several hours while they searched the scene, interviewed eyewitnesses and canvassing the area for surveillance footage that could help identify the SUV, police said.

The HOTLINE is offering a reward of up to $2,500 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
