Antos Hundreds of youngsters and their families gathered at Central Lounge in Astoria to celebrate and dance at the annual Children’s Halloween Costume Party, hosted by the United Community Civic Association (UCCA).

“This event provides a safe environment where family and friends can enjoy themselves,” said UCCA President Rose Marie Poveromo. “This free community event was super successful and we are very pleased with the turnout – and that no troublemaking clowns showed up to give us any heartache.”

The guests snacked on hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken fingers and French fries, and danced to the latest hits provided by a live DJ at the event, which was held on October 31st.

UCCA extended their sincere thanks to Central Lounge owner Nick Neocleous for providing the space for the event, as well as Mandel Keyfood, SKANSKA and Ridgewood Savings Bank. Also joining the festivities were State Senator Jose Peralta, Councilman Costa Constantinides, Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas, Irene Vasilakos representing state Senator Michael Gianaris, and District Leader and UCCA VP Carolyn Scarano.—Jason D.
