Katz Speaks At 115 Precinct Community Council Meeting



Inspector Michele Irizarry, Commanding Officer of the NYPD’s 115th Precinct (r.), and Janice Scurry, President of the 115th Precinct Community Council, welcomed Queens Borough President Melinda Katz to the Council’s meeting on October 18th. The 115th Precinct covers East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights and the Borough President spoke about topics impacting those neighborhoods, including the efforts to address traffic problems caused by the LaGuardia Airport renovation project. Katz also reminded the audience that the Helen Marshall Cultural Center (named for former Borough President and East Elmhurst resident, Helen Marshall) is now open at Queens Borough Hall, and is available to host community events.
