FDNY Probing Astoria Fire

City fire marshals are sifting through charred debris to determine the cause of a fire that injured four residents at an Astoria apartment building on October 10.

Approximately 60 firefighters from 12 FDNY units battled the blaze that started at about 8 p.m., at the building at 35-30 34th Street for almost an hour before it was brought under control, a fire spokesperson said.

Four residents were treated and released at Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens for minor injuries they suffered in the fire.

A Department of Buildings spokesperson said the agency is working to determine the extent of damage caused to the structure by the blaze.
