Teen School Vandals Charged With Hate Crime

By Liz Goff
Police arrested two Queens teenagers on September 7, after they broke into a Long Island City school and scrawled swastikas on walls and doors.

Cops said Edgardo Vicario, 18, and Salah Abdelfattah, 19, broke into the High School of Applied Communications on Thomson Avenue on August 29 and scrawled the messages on the fifth floor of the school building, causing an estimated $1,500 in damages.

Both teens were charged with aggravated harassment, burglary as a hate crime and petit larceny at their arraignments at Queens Criminal Court.
