Gianaris Inducts World War II Vet Into Hall Of Fame



State Senator Michael Gianaris, joined by Councilman Costa Constantinides, honored World War II veteran, Luke Gasparre, during the FIAO Italian Night in Athens Square Park. Luke Gasparre is a lifelong resident of Astoria and proudly fought for our country in the Battle of the Bulge. The Veterans’ Hall of Fame is designed to pay tribute to New Yorkers whose gallantry in the U.S. Armed Forces is complemented by service to their communities. The Federation of Italian-American Organizations event was held on Wednesday, August 31.
