UCCA’s Annual 9/11 Memorial Commemoration

The United Community Civic Association, Inc. (UCCA), along with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New York City Department of Corrections, 114th and 115th Precincts of the New York City Police Department, New York City Fire Department, elected officials, religious and community leaders, will host its annual September 11th memorial commemoration at McManus Memorial Park to “Keep Remembrance Alive” and honor loved ones lost.

The memorial will be on Thursday, September 8, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., located at 81st Street and Grand Central Parkway Service Road in Astoria Heights. Candles will be supplied for use in the short ceremony.

UCCA is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1992 that actively participates in the community affairs of Western Queens in New York City. As part of its several goals, UCCA provides an open forum for its citizens by organizing events to provide information on issues and activities affecting the community; define and solve problems regarding the community’s quality of life; and host various unity, health fair and other communal events.
