In a career spanning over 40 years, artist Dennis Cady has traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Latin America, capturing the beauty of the great outdoors in watercolor and acrylic paintings. Extended journeys have yielded a series of works that combine form, atmosphere and light with color, brushwork, and a sense of place. During the winter months Cady creates woodcuts, monoprints, and linocuts that reflect his paintings. The exhibition, Natural Resources: Dennis Cady Sculptures, Paintings, and Prints, is up now through October 2 at the QCC Art Gallery at Queensborough Community College.

“My photo-collages expand the borders of photography to portray a larger sense of time and space. They are an extension of the Cubist concept of time and space and are like the multiple images of my watercolors, painted on-site over a period of time,” said Cady, whose works have been shown in national and international exhibitions and are included in public, private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and abroad.

“Cady deftly captures nature’s fragility and sensuality in this outstanding show,” said Faustino Quintanilla, Executive Director, QCC Art Gallery. The QCC Art Gallery, Queensborough Community College, is located at 222-05 56th Ave., Bayside. Parking is available.
