WRBA Names Honorees For 45th Annual Fundraiser

Josephine Wendell, Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association’s Woman of the Year. The Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association will welcome civic leaders, elected officials, and fellow residents to Roma View Fine Catering on Friday, October 21, 2016, for the organization’s 45th annual fundraiser.
The event will celebrate a very successful and eventful year for the WRBA, and will highlight the achievements of three honorees.
The Woman of the Year will be Josephine Wendell, who volunteers for the Woodhaven Cultural & Historical Society. As the official photographer for Project Woodhaven, she has been ubiquitous, taking over 40,000 photographs in the neighborhood since 2009.
The Man of the Year will be Richard Kaiser, a longtime resident who has volunteered at St. Thomas the Apostle for decades, including coordinating the parish’s large annual rummage sale.

Health Max gives back to the community by hosting many free events throughout the year, with face painting, hot dogs, music, and more.

The WRBA’s annual fundraiser provides a major source of funding for the organization’s continued operation.

Adult tickets (for those 12 years or older) to the fundraiser are $70, and tickets for children 5 to 11 years old are $30. Tickets include a full buffet dinner with soda, beer, and wine. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. and concludes at 11 p.m. Roma View Fine Catering is located at 160-05 Cross Bay Boulevard, in Howard Beach.
