Stavisky Announces Campaign Team

State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky introduced her core campaign team on July 21. Each member has deep roots in Queens, and has extensive experience in government and campaign work.

“A candidate running for office needs a good team, and I am happy to say I have exactly that. As Queens residents themselves, my team is invested in this community. They care about the issues because they understand them in a way an outsider never would be able to,” Stavisky said.

Veronica Ng was announced as the Campaign Manager. She grew up in Whitestone and now resides in Jackson Heights. Ng got her start working for former Councilman Mark Weprin as his Communications Director. She was also the Field Director for Senator Stavisky’s last election in 2014, where the Senator’s margin of victory increased over the previous election.

“Senator Stavisky understands Queens and that’s why we need to keep her in the State Senate. She has proven herself as an exceptional leader time and time again with her many accomplishments, including the recognition of Lunar New Year as a school holiday, the passage of the Marriage Equality Act and her continued support of the DREAM Act. We need people like her in the State Senate and we’ll work hard to make sure she can continue fighting for us,” Ng said.

Stavisky also welcomed Daniel Randell, who is new to the campaign. Randell is a lifelong Bayside resident, who just finished working on the Congressional special election where he organized volunteers and helped with field operations. Randell will be the campaign’s Field Director and is responsible for Get Out The Vote (GOTV) operations. While in college, Randell also interned for the Clinton Foundation and the New York City mayoral campaign in 2013.

“I’m excited to work with such a talented team and staff for a Senator that truly cares about every single citizen in these communities. Whether it’s fighting for the minimum wage, women’s and LGBT rights, schools or senior citizens issues – Senator Stavisky’s long record of accomplishments and effective advocacy has been making a difference in the 16th Senate District for years. Our goal is to continue making sure this community has such a powerful voice fighting for them in Albany come November,” Randell said.

The campaign was glad to announce the return of Walter Chi, who has spent the last eight years consulting for Queens candidates for H&C Consulting. Chi has a long track record of organizing and helping generate a media presence for candidates. He has successfully worked on all of Congresswoman Grace Meng’s and Council Member Peter Koo’s races. He has served as an advisor to many other candidates throughout the borough, including work on the 2013 Borough President’s race. In 2014 Chi was part of a winning formula that helped Senator Stavisky capture 58% of the vote.

“I am proud to have worked on campaigns for all the Flushing Team members. From Congresswoman Grace Meng and Councilman Peter Koo, to Assemblyman Ron Kim, and now Senator Stavisky, I know how essential this group of elected officials is to Flushing and beyond ” Campaign Consultant Walter Chi said. “We are working together to make sure strong leaders like Senator Stavisky remain in office and continue to champion the people of the 16th Senate District.”
