Teens Steal, Crash Zipcar

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for four teenagers who swiped a Zipcar on June 26 and took it for an almost 24-hour joyride.

Cops said the teens broke into a parking lot on Queens Boulevard near 47th Street on the morning of June 26, hotwired a Zipcar and took it for a joyride.

The joy came to an end when the teens slammed the car into a vehicle parked at 48th Street and Northern Boulevard at about 9:30 a.m. on June 27, police said.

A 57-year-old woman sitting inside the parked car was not injured in the crash, police said.

The teens jumped out of the Zipcar car and ran north of 48th Street, where an eyewitness captured their getaway in a series of iPhone photos that were handed over to police.

The suspects, 15-to-19-years-old, were dressed casually and were wearing backpacks, police said.
