Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps Installs Officers

The newly elected Executive Committee of the Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps was sworn in on June 29 for the new Fiscal Year, beginning July 1. The Honorable David Elliot, an FHVAC Lifetime Member and a NYS Supreme Court Judge, conducted the swearing in ceremony of the incoming officers. Elliot was also recognized for his more than 40 years of service to the Corps. Other awards were issued for various achievements, including to members of the FHVAC Youth Corps. The Youth Corps, a highly successful program led by Peter Lantin, was re-launched in 2012 after remaining mostly dormant for several years. The success of the program shines a bright light on a part of the organization which was darkened by the loss of Richard Allen Pearlman, a beloved Youth Corps Member who lost his life on September 11, 2001. Also recognized at the event was longtime member, Robert Castioni, for his more than 40 years of service to FHVAC and the community as well as outgoing President, John Alber, who during his tenure, steered the agency to financial viability. The newly installed board led by Alan Wolfe asked the community to help welcome the 45th Executive Committee of FHVAC with its support by making a contribution by visiting www.fhvac.org or www.gofundme.com/fhvac.
