Woodside LIRR Crash Halts Service

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) passengers faced major delays and cancellations during the evening rush hour on June 28, after a truck crashed into a bridge just west of the Woodside station, LIRR officials said.
A delivery truck for the W.B. Mason office supply company struck the LIRR overpass near 59th Street, just after 7 p.m. on June 28, officials said.
The crash caused major disruptions on the eastbound commuter line out of Penn Station. All westbound service was temporarily terminated at the Jamaica station.
It is unclear why the truck struck the bridge.
No one was injured in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing, police and LIRR officials said.
Service was restored at the Jamaica station shortly after 7:30 p.m., with some residual delays, officials said.
