LIC Construction Site Robbery

Police are searching for two men who entered a construction site near Queens Plaza on May 31st and made off with an undisclosed amount of copper pipe and fittings.

Cops said the two suspects were captured on surveillance footage breaking a padlock and chain at an entrance to the 12-story development at 41-22 24th Street, at about 6 p.m. on May 31st, where they shattered a basement door to gain entry to stored construction materials.

The suspects grabbed the copper pipe and fittings and ran to the street, where they fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspects are described as black males, 30-40-years old. They were wearing dark shorts, white sneakers and construction vests at the time of the robbery.
