Help Cops Find This Sex Fiend

Police are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a man who tried to rape a woman in Corona on May 31.

Cops said the victim was walking on 42nd Avenue near Warren Street in Corona at about 5:45 a.m. on May 31 when the suspect grabbed her by the throat.

When the woman tried to fend off the fiend, he punched her in the mouth and stomach, then threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her over her clothing, police said.

The woman screamed for help and the man ran from the scene, heading south on 42nd Avenue, police said.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-7-inches tall, with short, black hair.

He was wearing a checkered shirt and black pants at the tome of the attack
