Cops Hunt Gunman In VFW Shooting

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a gunman who burst into a private party in Corona on June 10, where he opened fire and shot a man multiple times, police said.

Cops said the suspect walked into a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hall at 98-08 Northern Boulevard at about 11:10 p.m. on June 10 and shot the 32-year-old victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he was listed in critical condition.

Police said the VFW hall had been rented out for a private party, and the suspect was not an invited guest. It is unclear if the two men were acquainted prior to the shooting, a police source said.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet-tall, 200-220 pounds, with short, dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a white T-shirt and satin-like shorts, black shoes and a cap pulled over most of his hair at the time of the shooting.
