Cops Hunt Suspect In Six Bank Account Swipes

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a man who withdrew almost $4,000 from bank accounts in Astoria and Brooklyn in March and April.

Cops said the suspect used stolen credit and debit cards to access his victim’s accounts.

The suspect first struck at about 10 a.m. on March 25, when he used a stolen credit card to steal $500 from the checking account of a 39-year-old Astoria man at a Citibank branch at 25-91 Steinway Street.

The man struck again at 8a.m. on April 12, when he used a victim’s debit card to withdraw $530 from a bank in Brooklyn.

The same suspect struck four times on April 28, including a withdrawal he made at an ATM machine in Astoria, police said. The daylong robbery spree netted the suspect just over $1,000, police said.
