Astoria Residents Attend Annual Community Health Fair

Schwab joined elected officials, Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas, state Senators Michael Gianaris and Jose Peralta and nurse practitioners from Mount Sinai Queens in enjoying the beautiful day at the UCCA /MSQ Community Health Fair. Schwab joined elected officials, Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas, state Senators Michael Gianaris and Jose Peralta and nurse practitioners from Mount Sinai Queens in enjoying the beautiful day at the UCCA /MSQ Community Health Fair. On Saturday, June 4th, Queens residents from in and around Astoria joined elected officials to learn about improving their health at Mount Sinai Queens and United Community Civic Association’s Annual Community Health Fair. This year’s health fair was held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Kaufman Astoria Studios.

United Community Civic Association under the leadership of its President, Rose Marie Poveromo, coordinated the fair with support from Caryn A. Schwab, Mount Sinai Queens Executive Director and the many departments of Mount Sinai Queens, the NYC Department of Corrections and Mandell Key Food Stores.

Visitors to the UCCA/MSQ Community Health Fair were treated to an assortment of information about maintaining good health, free blood pressure testing, as well as free lunch compliments of the city’s Department of Correction.
