Woodside Man Shot In Botched Robbery

Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire during a botched robbery attempt in Woodside on May 8.

Cops said the 55-year-old victim was walking with his girlfriend on 61st Street near Broadway at about 4:40 a.m. on May 8 when two men approached him and demanded his property.

When he refused to comply, one of the suspects pulled a gun and shot the victim twice in the left thigh and once in the buttocks, police said. The suspects fled empty-handed in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he was treated and released for minor injuries. His girlfriend was not injured in the attack.

The suspects are described as male Hispanics, 35-30-years-old.
