Koslowitz’ Women’s History Event Honors Local Students

Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz recently hosted her 5th Annual Women’s History Month Celebration.  Students from the elementary schools comprising her entire district were invited to participate in a poster contest whose theme was “Women in Government and Public Service.”  Contest winners were presented with NYC Council Citations of Honor.  Additionally, this year’s event honored  Congresswoman Grace Meng, PS 101 Principal Monique Paniagua, local business owner Rahita Raval, and community activist Sylvia Hack, who represent women who are making important contributions to the lives of residents of our community.  NYC Public Advocate Letitia James addressed the estimated 250 attendees about the roles of women in our current society.
