Unique Hermitage Quartet

I heard a unique concert in the Hermitage  of a quartet singing the old Russian folk song Hey-Ho! The feeling and deep emotion transcended language barriers. I bought the CD in the Hermitage gift shop. The songs include: “Black Eyes,” “The Kossack’s Song” and others. One does not need to speak Russian to understand this nation’s feelings. Each member of the quartet sounded like a Luciano Pavarotti. The CD is called Russian Traditional Songs by the creative union (a kind of Russian trade union) known as Slavia.
