Man Shot In Attempted Robbery

Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire outside an East Elmhurst bar on March 20, shooting a man he was trying to rob.

Cops said the victim was approached by two men who tried to rob him outside Pa Donde Tono Bar on 31st Avenue near 96th Street in East Elmhurst on Sunday morning.

When the victim refused to comply and started to argue with the men, one of them pulled a gun and shot him twice in the stomach, police said. The suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police recovered at least three shell casings from a sidewalk outside the bar and took one woman into custody.
