Officials Hold Town Halls On Poor Storm Response

Following the inadequate response to Winter Storm Jonas, Assemblyman Francisco Moya, state Senator Jose Peralta, and Assemblyman Michael DenDekker hosted a set of two Town Hall Meetings in two of the hardest-hit areas, Jackson Heights and Corona. The first town hall meeting was held in Corona on February 10, the second of the two was held February 11 in Jackson Heights at the Renaissance Charter School. Panelists included Kathryn Garcia, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Sanitation, personnel from the NYC Office of Emergency Management, and the NYC Department of Transportation. The aim of the town hall meetings was to provide a forum in which residents and city agencies can exchange ideas on snowstorm response.
