View Building Plans On City Website

Queens civics and neighbors are now able to click on a city Website to access plans for new developments in their communities – before the first shovel breaks ground on the projects.

Developers are now required to post drawings of each new development as soon as the Department of Buildings (DOB) approves plans for their projects

The move is designed to give civics and residents a tool to keep developments in line with local zoning restrictions, and a way to challenge DOB approval of the projects.

Civics and homeowners will have 30-days from the posting to file a challenge on the approval. A high-level DOB official will review each challenge and post a response on the Website, city officials said.

The website provides virtual review of building plans for new and existing buildings, information on contractors, outstanding building site violations and how to obtain licenses and permits required to perform construction and alterations on buildings located within the five boroughs.

For information go to: www.nyc.gov/311 and click on ‘Development Hub.”
