Only In Woodhaven

To The Editor:
Our Holidays in Woodhaven Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony have passed, but the Hanukah and Christmas Spirit is still strong throughout Woodhaven. You can see the red Santa hats on the young and the young at heart, walking merrily while listening to the holiday music on the Avenue, from Dexter Court to 100th Street. The Holiday Parade has marched on and no more pizza is left. The costumed characters and Santa Claus took free pictures with all who wanted them at the Forest Parkway Plaza Area in front of our beautiful Christmas Tree. The brightly lit decorations in the area, on our trees, glow like diamonds in the night. Decorations along the Avenue brighten the way for all of our shoppers. All these amenities are brought to Woodhaven by your Woodhaven Business Improvement District where your stores and businesses, because of their monetary contributions, make these activities all available to you, our residents and our customers. So spend your gift money on your “Everything Avenue” stores and businesses that care. So now as you shop locally enjoy our holiday music that fills the air, with our bright lights along our avenue, our beautiful Tree and little trees in our Forest Parkway Plaza area. The WBID hopes that you enjoy all of these holiday activities. (Please view these and other WBID/GWDC Events online, Facebook page at facebook.com/woodhavenbid, 718-805-0202.)
May we, at this time, our WBID President Mathew Xenakis, our GWDC/WBID staff Maureen Bermingham, Lisa Komninos, Megan Arfmann, Lina Gao, Krystian Genesla, Santa’s helpers and I, as Executive Director, Maria Thomson, wish you as the song goes, with additions, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous and Safe New Year!” May God bless our men and women of our armed forces, who are bravely protecting our America so far from home, so that we may be safe this holiday season. May God bless our disabled veterans, and may God bless our NYPD, and our America, the best country in the world.
Maria A. Thomson Executive Director, Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation and Woodhaven Business Improvement District
