104th Ptct. CC's Cop Of The Year Award Dinner 2015

The 104th Precinct Community Council held its Cop of the Year Award Dinner 2015 honoring PO Geraldo Gonzalez on December 20, at Villa Erasmo. There was an opening ceremony with elected officials and Commanding Officer Captain Mark Wachter, the award presentation, dinner service, raffle drawing, and Gary the DJ entertained the attendees.


A brief summary of PO Gonzalez’ history and achievements in NYPD is as follows:
• Appointed as NYPD Traffic Agent March of 2006, Promoted Level II January 2007
• Appointed to Department (Police Officer) July 6, 2011
• Assigned to 104th Precinct, January 2013
• Assumed responsibility for Precinct Graffiti program, October 2014
• Coordinates community service graffiti cleanups with civic organizations and other neighborhood volunteers
• Assisted and mentored Police Officers assigned to the Field Training program
• Helped to coordinate fundraising events for officers in need of assistance
• Quality of Life enforcement helping to close several problematic bars
• Involvement with P.A.L. Basketball, Football and Softball programs
• Volunteers as Little League Football Coach in Orange County
The 104th Precinct Community Council has four main goals and objectives:

1. Establish meaningful partnerships and maintain direct contact between the Commanding Officer, Community Affairs Officer, the Community Council Executive Board and the community;

2. Encourage community members to report public safety and quality of life issues to the New York City Police Department; encourage community members to help establish methods to decrease these public safety and quality of life infractions;

3. Raise awareness of law enforcement efforts (e.g. disseminate wanted person information, discern crime patterns, etc.) and actively partner with the department to improve relationships and encourage community participation throughout New York City;

4. Promote existing New York City Police Department programs that enhance public safety, quality of life and police-community relations.

The Planning Committee consists of Tania Broschart, Carolina Galbo, and Len Santoro. The Executive Board is comprised of President Len Santoro, Vice President Abraham Markowitz, Treasurer Tania Broschart, Recording Secretary Pat Grayson, Sergeant-at-Arms Dieter Vey, Assistant Secretary Carolina Galbo, Commanding Officer Captain Mark Wachter.
