Room 55 Restaurant is pleased to announce that and Chef/Owner, Vinny Accardi, will be appearing in the season premiere of the television program Restaurant Startup on CNBC,
Wednesday, the 6th of January, 2016 at 10pm EST.

About Restaurant Startup

Restaurant Startup is an American reality television show broadcast on CNBC. It incorporates Shark Tank's element of having investors who choose whether or not to put their money into a start-up eatery. On each episode celebrity restaurateurs Joe Bastianich and Tim Love choose between two potential restaurant teams. The team they select then have 36 hours and $7500 to refine their restaurant idea (including logo design, decor, and new
menu). The team then re-pitches their idea and Bastianich and Love decide if hey will invest in the company.

About Chef Vinny Acardi

Vinny Accardi is a chef and restaurateur born and raised in Maspeth, Queens. He discovered his passion for food and cooking at a very young age. This love of culinary arts led him to attend The Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York, of which he graduated on May 5th of 2000. His first foray into the world of professional cooking came at the highly acclaimed Ostera del Circo in Midtown Manhattan where he completed his externship for graduation from C.I.A. It was here that Chef Accardi had his first real life experience working on a kitchen line and began to hone his skills using the finest ingredients available.
After graduation from C.I.A. Chef Accardi spent 6 months travelling abroad and used this time to cook, taste and soak in the diversity of cuisines and culture of Europe. Upon his return to the United States, Chef Accardi spent the
next few years working at some of the finest restaurants in Manhattan under top rated chefs. Some of these restaurants included Union Pacific, under Chef Rocco D’Spirito and nationally acclaimed Oceana for Chef Rick Moonen.

At this time, Chef Accardi’s was offered his first Executive Chef position at Rouge Restaurant in the affluent neighborhood of Forest Hills. It was here that Chef Accardi ‘s talent, skills, creativity and passion for cooking began receiving attention and acclaim from both the public and the press. Under Chef Accardi’s leadership, Rouge received glowing reviews and numerous accolades, consistently being voted the top rated restaurant in Forest Hills.

After Rouge, Chef Accardi spent the next few years cooking and catering around the NY area before relocating to Las Vegas for several years, where he was the Sous Chef at 2 high profile restaurants, Off the Strip in South Vegas and Ferarro’s near the Las Vegas Strip. It was here in Las Vegas that Chef Accardi came across the opportunity to audition and was selected to appear on Season 8 of Gordon Ramsey’s television program Hell’s Kitchen. Chef Accardi went quite far in the competition and was voted the Hell’s Kitchen Season 8 “Fan
Favorite”.

After the show, Chef Accardi was offered and accepted an Executive Chef position at Vertuccio’s in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and decided to return home to his roots in New York City. With all of this great experience under his belt, Chef Accardi began the search for commercial properties in his native borough of Queens to open his own restaurant where he could prepare the finest food for his friends, family, neighbors and the public. During this time, Chef Accardi started working for Prime Food Distributor as a butcher with the intentions of bringing a higher level of quality of meats and expertise to his forthcoming venture. All of the beef served at his restaurant comes from here as well. In April of 2014, Chef Accardi realized his dream and ROOM 55 Restaurant in Glendale, Queens was born and has been consistently delighting diners for the last year and a half.
