Man Wanted In Astoria Bicycle Theft

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a man who swiped a bicycle from the garage at an Astoria apartment building on October 25.

Cops said the man let himself into the building near Crescent Street and 31st Avenue at about 5 a.m. on October 25, where he made his way to an indoor garage.

The man grabbed a black Cannondale motorbike from a storage area inside the garage and casually wheeled it out of the building unnoticed, police said.

He then disappeared in an unknown direction with the bicycle, valued at approximately $850, police said.

The man, who was captured on surveillance footage walking through the garage, is described as a white or Hispanic male, 40-45 years old and 150 pounds, with brown hair and a large brow moustache. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket and a dark-colored hat at the time of the robbery, police said.
