Blaze In Forest Hills Deemed Suspicious

Photos by Dan Miller/DMD IMAGESA two-alarm fire at a home under construction at 108-43 66th Ave., near the corner of 110th Street nearly destroyed a home in Forest Hills on November 17.

Homes on both sides of the unfinished structure were evacuated due to the raging flames.
Residents on the block observed very high flames reaching over the building site and threatening nearby homes. A brick home next door also caught fire, causing significant damage there as well.

This was the second fire at a new home under construction in Forest Hills.  The other house is on 67th Drive, only a few blocks away. Now both fires are under investigation by fire marshals.
The 112th Precinct in Forest Hills reported that they are coordinating efforts with the FDNY in the investigation of both recent suspicious fires in Forest Hills.
