Film Screening, Art Show At HANAC Senior Center

A short film about the work of one of their senior citizen artists, Irene Phillips, will debut at the HANAC Harmony JVL Innovative Senior Center in the George T. Douris Tower on Friday, November 6 and will be shown as part of an art show of work produced by their members, from 10 am until 4 pm, and will remain up until 1 pm on Saturday November 7. A parking meter that was created through collaboration with Conrad Stojak and the Senior Citizen Art Class will debut at this event and will remain in the HANAC Harmony Art Collection. This is a curated show and Chair of the Board and Co-Founder Evangeline Douris has selected pieces from this year’s senior artists to be part of the show. This exhibit will also feature some beautiful and haunting photos by former employee and SPARC artist Ian Wen from his time at HANAC. George T. Douris Tower / HANAC Harmony Innovative Senior Center, is located at 27-40 Hoyt Avenue South, Astoria, 15th Floor Conference Room. This free public event has been made possible by the generosity of HANAC, Inc. & the Department for the Aging. Membership in the Center is free for all persons over the age of 60 years.
