Transit Cops Hunt Knockout Performer

Queens Transit cops are searching for a subway performer who assaulted a 55-year-old straphanger on an E-train in Long Island City.

Cops said the Manhattan-bound E-train was puling into the Queens Plaza station at about 1:45 p.m. on September 24 when the performer approached the victim demanding that he stop recording a performance.

The performer then punched the victim in the face, spat on him and fled the train at the Long Island City station, police said.

The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, 18-to-25-years-old, with a thin build. He was wearing a baseball cap, a white T-shirt, jeans and red sneakers at the time of the attack, police said.
