Annual Queens Columbus Day Parade


The annual Queens Columbus Day Parade organized each year by the the Federation of Italian-American Organizations of Queens (FIAO), wound its way on Saturday, October 10, through the streets of Astoria – from the Kaufman Astoria Studios to Columbus Square on Astoria Boulevard. Grand Marshal Councilman Costa Constantinides, under the gaze of the Great Navigator himself, thanked all those who joined in this year’s festive and successful Columbus Day event. Constantinides was joined by state Senator Michael Gianaris, former Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Parade co-founder retired Justice Anthony Gazzara, former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone Sr., World War II Army Veteran Luke Gasparre, and Parade MC and Federation Vice President Jerry Iannece.
