Mets Off To The Postseason

The New York Mets are on their way to the Postseason. The Amazin’s finished their miracle season with a 1-0 victory over the Washington Nationals at Citi Field on October 4 with a 90-70 record. The Mets, who were on a five-game losing streak, slid past the Nationals in the eighth inning with a solo home run by Curtis Granderson. At the game’s conclusion the entire New York Metropolitans ball club did a season ending victory lap around the field tipping their hats in tribute to the more than 55,000 fans in attendance. They will go on to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series with Game One this Friday and Game Two on Saturday, both at Dodger Stadium in LA. The Mets will return to Citi Field for Game Three on October 12. Infielder David Wright thanked the fans for their support before leaving the field. “You guys are the best fans in the world. Now let’s go beat LA,” he said. —Jason D. Antos
