It’s A Slam ‘Dunk’ For Thirsty Doggies

The owner of a Long Island City delicatessen o showed his affection for our four-legged, furry friends when he recently opened this “Doggie Water” rest stop (see photo) outside his business on 35th Street near 35th Avenue.

A man inside the deli told the Gazette the owner opened the watering station during a recent heat wave to help hydrate local canines on their daily walks though the neighborhood.

“It doesn’t take long for the dogs to realize the water is there for them,” the man said. “The bowls have to be filled more than a dozen times each day, and even more when it’s really hot,” the man said. “What can you say? The owner is a good guy who really loves dogs,”
