Victim Strikes Back In Steinway Street Knife Attack

A 28-year-old man decided he wasn’t giving in to a knife-wielding thug who tried to rob his on Steinway Street on August 25, authorities said.

Cops said the victim was walking on Steinway Street near 28th Avenue at about 9:15 a.m. on August 25 when the man snuck up on him from behind, flashed a knife and demanded that he hand over his wallet, iPhone and other personal items.

The victim refused, turned and kicked the suspect, who dropped the knife during the confrontation, police sources said.

The suspect fled empty-handed on foot, in an unknown direction. The victim told police he was angry, but injured.

The HOTLINE is offering a reward of up to $2,500 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
