Kids Must Have Shots To Start School

BY LIZ GOFF
New York State health officials are changing immunization requirements for youngsters entering the school system.

As of September 1, the State Department of Health will require youngsters to receive a complete series of shots for measles/mumps/rubella, polio and tetanus/diptheria/pertussis before they can start classes.

Youngsters who have received initial doses of the vaccines will be able to attend classes only is parents can prove they have scheduled appointments for final doses, state health officials said.
