Hunt Suspect In Senior Pipe Assault

Police are searching for the heartless thug who struck a 74-year-old man with a metal pipe as he was parking his car on Jackson Heights street on July 11.

Cops said the suspect exited a nearby car and walked up to the victim at about 1:40 p.m. on July 11, as he was parking his car on 83rd Street Northern Boulevard. The suspect smacked the victim in the face with a metal pipe and fled in the nearby black sedan, police said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he was treated and released for swelling and facial lacerations he suffered in the attack.

The suspect is described as an Asian male in his 30s, 5-feet, 9-inches tall and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the attack.

The HOTLINE is offering a reward of up to $2,500 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
