By Liz Goff
A Queens bicyclist continues to fight for his life this week after a drunk driver slammed into him at the Queens Plaza transportation hub in Long Island City on July 28.

Police said the unidentified victim, in his 20s, was pedaling along Queens Plaza North near 29th Street at about 5:15 p.m. on July 28 when the 25-year-old drunken driver plowed into him.
The bicyclist was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital Weil Cornell where he underwent treatment for multiple injuries, authorities said. He was listed in very critical condition and was fighting for his life, law enforcement sources said.
Police at the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad (CIS) took the driver in for questioning. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and could face more serious charges, pending the victim’s recovery.
