Ridgewood Eats

Ridgewood Eats is proudly celebrating its 10-year anniversary in the quiet hamlet of Ridgewood, Queens. From their humble beginnings at their first spot on Queens Blvd. owners John, Chris and Spiro work tirelessly to serve the community it calls home. Whether you come for a hearty breakfast, quick and delicious lunch, or a family dinner, you’ll find generous portions of freshly made dishes at great prices. You can order on-line with free delivery, or order through their free app for your smart phone.

The staff is very friendly and the dining room is bright and clean. Start your day off right at Ridgewood Eats and choose among fluffy omelets folded with cheeses, ham, spinach, avocado, mushrooms and more. Muffins, bagels, and egg sandwiches are swiftly packed up to take to work and the coffee is delicious. Weekend brunch is popular thanks to their golden, crispy Belgian waffles topped with fruit and maple syrup, French toast or a stack of fluffy pancakes with crispy bacon, ham or sausage. Fruit smoothies are prepared all day long with fresh bananas, strawberries, and mango and make a quick snack to go.

Stop by for lunch when Ridgewood Eats serves oven pressed panini sandwiches and wraps. Warm, pressed panini are made on focaccia bread and filled with prosciutto, ham, mozzarella, sundried tomato and arugula for the “Sicilian”. The chicken fajita panini has grilled chicken, cheddar, roasted peppers, and caramelized onions and is grilled to melted madness ($9.95). Fresh wraps are filled with grilled salmon, chicken teriyaki, tuna salad, or Portobello mushrooms. The Florentine wrap is very popular, made with grilled chicken, feta cheese and fresh spinach. Their burgers can’t be beat and are prepared around the clock so order one anytime and top it with your favorite cheese and toppings. The EATS Super Burger is 8 ounces of fine quality beef topped with fried onions, mushrooms, bacon, and Swiss cheese for $8.25 or $10.50 as a deluxe with fries, lettuce and tomato.

Appetizers can be ordered at lunch or dinner time for a nice start to a meal, and there are plenty to share, such as their spicy, flavorful Buffalo wings served with bleu cheese dressing and crispy rings of fried calamari. We shared a fresh mozzarella and tomato salad topped with beautiful basil leaves and balsamic dressing. The sampler combo platter gives you a taste of mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, Buffalo wings and onion rings with plenty for everyone. Each day, the chef prepares three different soups such as chicken rice, cream of broccoli, and lentil.

Ridgewood Eats is the perfect place for dinner with the kids, your friends, or family because the nightly specials are delicious, nicely presented and reasonably priced. Pasta specials cost just $9.95 and include fettuccine Alfredo, rigatoni with tomato and basil or penne alla vodka, and all are served with warm garlic bread.

A 12-ounce Angus steak, classic meatloaf and grilled twin pork chops satisfy even the largest appetite, since all entrees are served with your choice of soup or salad. Sauteed specials include fork-tender chicken Francese or Marsala style, or chicken scampi with a garlic butter sauce served over pasta or rice. My chicken cordon bleu was filled with ham and melted cheese, served over fettuccine pasta with a nice garden salad on the side. The generous portion provided lunch the next day too.

Fresh seafood dishes are prepared on the spot such as salmon steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables, or delicate fillet of sole Francese. Plump shrimp are prepared scampi style, marinara, or Parmigiana and go well over al dente linguine.

No visit to Ridgewood Eats would be complete without a hunk of Junior’s cheesecake, now there’s a Devil’s Food cheesecake too, apple pie a la mode, chocolate thunder cake or moist carrot cake. The coffee, cappuccino and espresso is rich and robust.

Ridgewood Eats is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks anytime. They will deliver to your home or office and menus can be faxed to your office for fast, free delivery or professional catering. Order on-line or use the app. “No need to be doing dishes, when it’s so delightfully delicious,” says the menu. Visit Ridgewood Eats, celebrating 10 years in Ridgewood!
